Poem on Dream

Image
Dream It was midnight and I screamed my throat out, Mother rushed in, “honey, why do you shout?” I felt numb to my stench and scared to my bones, Was it the monster under my bed or clanking of stones? I looked at her face, face so distressed, She might wonder her child is a mess. “What happened dear? You look terrified.” “I had a bad dream Ma, I almost died. In my dream, I was walking home alone, Somebody grabbed my hand & wouldn’t let me go. To my consternation, I couldn’t see his face, I retaliated but miserably failed. He pushed me to the ground & pulled my hair, Wanted to scream but I couldn’t dare. I tried to run but I lost my speed, The only option left was to plead. He came closer and took out his blade, I felt helpless at the same time, afraid. He wanted to kill me, he might come again, It was just a dream causing me a lot of pain. Mom hugged me tight and I did feel safe, But I knew I couldn’t be any brave. I might be over this horrible dream, But...

Basketball

JERSEY NUMBER 7 Also, check out my Youtube channel, do subscribe :)  -  Harshita Solanki Basketball has been an important part of my life. I started playing this sport when I was in class 4. I have had my journey of basketball with all sorts of feelings. There have been days when I used to wake up early morning and sneak out of the house just to play a friendly match. There have also been days when I couldn’t move my legs after playing a match. I have learnt so much from basketball. Not just the rules and regulations but also discipline and team work which are very important factors to cope up with life. We have won and lost so many matches which have taught me how to accept a win with modesty and a loss with pride. The competitive factor of the game makes it more interesting. In 2012, when I was in class 6, my school hosted a basketball tournament. It was the first time I was able to score a basket in a match. We won the match and I won some confidence. After that, I was abl...

10 Positive things that happened during lockdown: Also, check out my Youtube channel, do subscribe :)  -  Harshita Solanki Coronavirus has taken a heavy toll on everybody around the world. A huge number or deaths have been caused and similarly a huge number of people have been infected by this deadly virus. But just like a coin has 2 sides of it, so does this virus. Coronavirus has taught us a huge number of lessons – positives and negatives. I already wrote a poem about mental health of people during lockdown and about lives gone because of the same. But this article is about some positive things that have taken place during the lockdown. 1.      Eating healthy   We are taking a lot of precautions just to avoid the infection of coronavirus and therefore we try our best to avoid street food, or junk food from outside. Also, when the lockdown started eatables from outside were not allowed as most of the restaurants were closed because of safety purposes. He...

Vikas Dubey

VIKAS DUBEY: “HE WHO PROFITS BY VILLAINY, HAS PERPRETRATED IT”   Also, check out my Youtube channel, do subscribe :)  -   Harshita Solanki Before July 3, 2020, Vikas Dubey was just another underworld criminal from UP. Though he was accused of 60 criminal cases including murder and attempt to murder but still his name was nowhere to be found in the list of most wanted criminals. The hierarchy of his criminal records began back in 1990s when he was a grassroots worker and was patronized by some politicians. He seized land from some and on the other hand freed some land. He had the sarpanch, electric substation and other things of the village under his control. And that was how he was able to gain the support of people. It was also stated that in 2001, he killed a state minister in the police station itself in front of 20 people but nobody witnessed against him. All his wrongdoings came to end when the following series of event took place:   3 rd July 2020 (Friday)...

Poem on Mental health

MENTAL HEALTH   Also, check out my Youtube channel, do subscribe :)  -  Harshita Solanki For I sit down to write today To grieve for the losses Incurred during the lockdown. Loss of deteriorating mental health of people Away from their families And their peace almost shut down. Numerous number of people around them, but can only see houses with locks. Whom do they seek help from, When they are fighting in their head All around the clock.   For I sit down to write today Wanting to lend an extra ear, But easier said than done They’re unable to overcome this fear. Fear of being alone, unemployed, broke, unstable, And when a precious life will inevitably end It will become an interesting fable.    For I sit down to write today To pay my tribute for the ones who fight Everyday, with their minds & thoughts Creating a thunderstorm in their heads Which most of them are not able to survive.   For I sit down to write today To ...
